Overview

Tom's focus is on the practice of securities law and corporate finance-related matters. He has been consistently named from 2006 - 2024 to the list of Best Lawyer in Canada in Securities Law.

Head of the Firm’s Securities and Corporate Finance practice areas, Tom has been practising corporate and securities law for over 40 years with a focus on private equity transactions. Tom has acted on behalf of issuers, brokers, underwriters and investors in a variety of corporate finance and securities related matters and regularly represents clients in regulatory matters involving the Manitoba Securities Commission. Tom was a panel member on IIROC disciplinary hearings for many years. He is familiar with all aspects of structuring, negotiating and documenting investment transactions including mergers and acquisitions.

Tom’s practice includes entertainment law and Tom has been involved in film financings and the entertainment industry for many years acting for film and sound funding agencies, broadcasters, radio stations, producers and musicians.

Tom is also experienced dealing with oil and gas interests in Manitoba and the structuring and documenting of oil and gas royalty trusts.

Tom’s practice includes Business Immigration and general corporate commercial law.
